Insurance Coverage For Kedah Fishermen, Says Mustapa

Some 8,000 fishermen in Kedah will be the first batch of fishermen in the country to be covered by an insurance scheme from January 1 next year, Agriculture and Agro-based Industry Minister Datuk Mustapa Mohamed said Sunday. He said the insurance scheme would provide coverage for personal injury and death of fishermen who are members of the Kedah Fishermen Association (Nekad). Details of the scheme are still being negotiated, he told reporters after opening the association's annual general meeting Saturday night.  [Bernama]
