Price list for car repairs by September

The list is being prepared by the Malaysian Association of Tyre Retreaders and Dealers Societies. Its president, Tan Heong Thong, said while the association could not control workshops or dealers from increasing their prices, it felt there was need to give some price guidelines to the public.  [New Straits Times]

MITI To Review, Re-table NAP To Cabinet By Year End

The Ministry of International Trade and Industry (MITI) is considering reviewing the National Automotive Policy (NAP) and re-tabling it to the Cabinet before the year ends. Its minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin said this was to address certain unresolved issues. "We will re-look the policy as it does not cover the industry as a whole... lots of issues need to be tackled," he told reporters after officiating the CarTrade Office here Tuesday.

MV Agusta Sale For One Euro Profitable To Proton, Says Ahmad Husni

Deputy Finance Minister Datuk Ahmad Husni Hanadzlah said Proton made the decision after taking into account the financial liabilities of Augusta which had 107 million euro (RM545 million) debt. "As there was no synergy between car and motorcycle and instead of shouldering RM545 million debt, Proton decided to sell Agusta," he said when replying to a supplementary question from Nga Kor Ming (DAP-Taiping) during question time.
