Suspicion of licence abuse
A solar-energy equipment manufacturer is suspected of abusing its sales tax exemption licence (CJ5) issued by the Customs Department by keeping finished products at its factory. Yusop said the department would investigate the matter, and if there was proof the company abused its licence, it would be required to pay the 10% sales tax on the 77 units and the CJ15 licence would be withdrawn.
